Thought the Omega Speedmaster was the only “Moonwatch?” Think again. In 1971, American astronaut Edgar Mitchell spent nine hours walking the surface of the Moon as part of the Apollo 14 program. He was the sixth person to tread the lunar surface, but, with his Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675 on his right wrist, the first to ever bring a Rolex to the Moon’s surface. Talk about making history! Mitchell’s “Pepsi” was both the first automatic watch and the first perfect UK Rolex replica watches ever worn on the Moon. Now, that very watch is coming up for auction, only the second lunar Rolex fake watches to be publicly available.

While there are no photos of the watch being worn on the lunar surface – it being difficult to take a selfie from within one’s spacesuit and all – there are plenty of images showing the watch on Mitchell’s wrist before the mission, immediately after the moon walk, and post-mission completion back on Earth. An otherwise standard 1675, the AAA Swiss Rolex copy watches features the beloved red-and-blue bidirectional “Pepsi” bezel, an automatic Chronometer-certified Rolex movement, beautiful patina from the faded tritium lume, and a steel folded-link Oyster bracelet. Developed by the brand in the early 1950s for Pan Am flight crews and used to track both local as well as GMT time, the luxury replica Rolex GMT-Master model watches family would have been less than 20 years old by the time it walked the Moon on Mitchell’s wrist. It even comes with a touching personal inscription on the back: “WORN BY CDR. E. MITCHELL ON APOLLO 14, 1971, TO KARLIN – MY DAUGHTER.” This piece has all the makings of an auction superstar.

Mitchell’s isn’t the only GMT-Master blessed with NASA provenance over the decades. Jack Swigert used his own high quality Rolex replica watches on the 1970 Apollo 13 mission, Stuart Rosa did the same on Apollo 14 in ‘71, and Ron Evans wore his on Apollo 17 the next year. Of those, Mitchell’s is only the second to come under the hammer following the auction of Evans’s “Pepsi” in 2009. (That one hammered for $131,450 and was purchased by Rolex itself. This one should do many multiples of that result.) However, Mitchell’s Swiss movements Rolex super clone watches is only the second confirmed Moon dust-covered “Pepsi” in the horological supermarket, and it beat Evans’s to the lunar surface.

The top China replica Rolex watches is currently up for sale at RR Auctions, where the bidding is at just $22,000 at the time of publication. Expect that to rocket off soon. This watch comes with all the necessary paperwork. RR Auctions also includes a letter of authenticity signed by Commander Edgar Mitchell that states, “The accompanying Rolex watch was worn by me during the Apollo 14 mission.” While bidding is currently low, it would be a surprise if the Crown itself didn’t jump in to claim this Rolex fake watches wholesale UK as it did for the previous GMT worn on the Moon. The estimate for the piece is set at $400,000. Maybe the most impressive of all about this watch is that Mitchell is one of the only people brave enough to wear a Rolex to an official Omega-sponsored event. I see myself walking on the moon before trying that!
